Legoland Germany
Legoland – land of fantasy and imagination. Here everything is possible and everyone is a creator. The unique power of Lego impresses kids and adults of all ages.
Today we will take a glimpse at the magic it offers in it site in Germany. Legoland Park Germany (48.4179986,10.3126564) occupies a vast space just outside the city of Gunzburg, approximately 100 km westwards of Munich.
How to reach the park
If you are travelling from outside of Germany, the easiest and most-convenient way is to take a flight to Memmingen. From the airport you are rent a car and head directly towards Legoland. The driving distance from there is just 50 km.
Regarding accommodation, you can chose to stay in Memmingen (the variant we chose, as our plan was to visit also other places in Bavaria) or stay in Legoland Holiday village. If you choose the later, you can find more information on the accommodation prices directly from the site of the park. To visit Legoland website, click here.
Tickets
One-day individual ticket for Legoland park costs 35.50 EUR. If you travel as a group with kids or friends, a family ticket is a good option (minimum 4 persons) – this way the price per person is 33 EUR. Also there is a very big parking lot, so for 6 EUR/day you won’t need to worry about your car – maybe the only concern will be how to find it, as the parking lot is almost as big as the park itself… Lego has figured this out and has placed very funny navigation signs so that you can easily remember where you parked your car.
What to see
Legoland offers something to anyone:
- meet your favourite cartoon stars
- raise your adrenaline level riding on a roller coaster
- see the world from bird’s eye in the Park of the Miniatures
- visit the Lego film academy
- see how Lego is made in the Lego factory
And many, many more…
Useful tips
Visit the park during workdays. During the weekends the park is very crowded and you will queue for a long time for any attraction. During the weekends the queuing time is significantly reduced. This way you can have the maximum fun of your time spent in the park.
Buy your tickets online in advance. This way you will not need to queue at the entrance. Moreover, there are often attractive promotions, if you buy the tickets at least 7 days in advance.
Bring snacks with you. There are several fast-food restaurants in the park, which are relatively high-priced but in our opinion not offering outstanding food variety and quality.
Take the Legoland express. As the park is quite big, it is a good option to take the small train that is passing along most of the attractions. This way you will do a reality check of the area scale and plan what to visit and what to skip.
